Licence Renewal
The Neutrog Trading Pty Ltd licence expires on 31 December 2025. Neutrog made an application to renew its licence to continue undertaking composting activities at the Kanmantoo site. The EPA undertook a detailed review of the current licence conditions considering:
- Environmental performance, management of environmental risks associated with receiving and handling spent poultry litter, and community feedback at Neutrog’s Kanmantoo site over the term of the licence,
- Development consent and corresponding conditions imposed by Mount Barker District Council and
- Comparative conditions with other composting and resource recovery sites to ensure consistency.
As a result, the EPA proposed variations to Neutrog’s current licence conditions and, in accordance with statutory requirements has invited written submission from Neutrog regarding the proposed conditions. Once this process is finalised, an updated licence will be issued on 1 January 2026 and made available on the public register.
