Two-week emission control systems trial from 8 to 22 August

MAB and their remediation contractors are undertaking a two-week trial at the gasworks site in relation to the emission control systems (ECSs) that are operated for the odour control enclosures (remediation tents).

In response to odour complaints received, the trial includes the operation of the ECSs at reduced fan speeds for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The trial will run from Thursday 8 to Thursday 22 August.

The aim of the trial is to further assess the effectiveness of extending the ECS operating hours and the management of odour. Following completion of the trial, MAB will provide a response to the EPA regarding any feedback received relating to odour and noise. Following this, the EPA will reconsider the effectiveness of the ECSs continuing to operate for extended hours.

The EPA has been advised that MAB and their contractors will be undertaking further noise assessments during the trial period.
