Melrose Park groundwater prohibition area

Consultation has concluded

The Environment Protection Authority (EPA) has established a groundwater prohibition area (GPA) in parts of Melrose Park. The EPA has undertaken environmental assessments in Melrose Park since 2021.

From 21 December 2023 the taking of groundwater (bore water) from Quaternary aquifers up to 49 m below ground level will be prohibited (see SA Government Gazette, 21 December 2023).

Community engagement on the proposal to establish a GPA was undertaken until 20 November 2023.
